Nursing School Graduation Party

After countless nights of no sleep due to studying, my good friend, Niki and I decided that we deserved to throw ourselves a huge celebration in honor of our Graduation from nursing school. I was in charge of the party planning, and this is what I came up with. I didn't get a lot of pictures of all of the beautiful food that we prepared, but the decorations turned out lovely if I do say so myself :)

The Desert Table. I made the cupcake stands out of foam presentation boards that I cut up and hot glued together. I then used ribbon along the edges to add some extra detail.

Gift Table.

Fruit Skewers. This was very time consuming what they turned out beautifully, and were a big hit.

Veggie and Cheese Skewers.

Peanut butter balls (or buckeyes). I used scrapbook paper to add accents to the table.

Happy Pills (Jelly Bellies)

Red Velvet Cake Pops.

Chocolate chip "kiss" cookies.

Margarita glasses. We had a couple of volunteers that made us margaritas all night long.

Table centerpieces that I made from these little white cases from hobby lobby, and some scrapbook stickers.

HAPPY PILLS. I ordered a bunch of prescription bottles on Ebay, spray painted the lids in my desired colors, then used microsoft word to create the labels. I used photo paper and got the labels to stick using hot glue. Then, I filled each one with jelly belly jelly beans.

I got these letters from Hobby Lobby and spray painted them. These pictures were then placed on our gift table with a basket placed next to each one to keep our cards and gifts separated.

Dessert napkins tied with little black ribbons.

Centerpieces number 2. Each lantern sat on top of a piece of scrapbook paper. I found the little black "nurse caps" at Hobby lobby. They were actually intended to be pirate caps for kids. I glued on the embroidered crosses to give the nurse cap feel. Each lantern was accented with two glass votive holders with LED candles, glass gems, and silk orchids.

The invitations were a lot of fun to make. I made the nurse icon in Microsoft Word, using the shapes and shape fill options. It took a while to get the desired result, but I love how they turned out. I also used my little nurse on the food labels.

I absolutely loved putting this party together, and we had a great night of celebrating our success.
